Our client is a leading provider of environmental services in the UK and globally, particularly in the field of liquid fertilisers, wastewater treatment and anaerobic digestion.

They are seeking a laboratory technician with a chemistry background to work in a dynamic environment where they can broaden their analytical and chemical product development skills. For the right candidate future career advancement is a possibility.

Overview

Preparation and Chemical Analyses of samples and reporting of results.

Equipment troubleshooting, maintenance and housekeeping.

Quality control of production samples.

Evaluation of raw material samples.

Labelling and storage of samples.

Assist in developing new products, including formulation, testing and lab-scale and pilot plant scale product performance simulations.

Work to GLP and ISO 17025 standards.

Candidate

Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or similar discipline is essential. HNC or HND also considered.

General applied chemistry knowledge is essential.

Excellent analytical skills producing reliable test results.

Experience in using inductively coupled plasma (ICP), gas chromatography (GC) and segmented flow analyser (SFA) units is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

Experience in analysis of biological wastewater and anaerobic digestion samples is an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided.

MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.

Experience with ISO 17025, GLP and LIMS preferred but training will be given.

Ability to communicate and effectively deliver accurate laboratory results.

Be flexible with working hours when required in order to deliver the service required.

Full UK Driving Licence.
