Principle Scientist - Process Technology in Cleveland

The Role

Our client has an opportunity for a Principal Scientist/Engineer (Process Technology) to work within their National Formulation Centre, leading the development of a capability specialising in scale-up (both for batch and continuous production) of formulations and raw materials used in the formulation industry.  Duties of the role includes:

To lead the development of Process Technology practice within Formulation and ensure that development aligns with Formulation business strategy.

To translate Process Technology strategy and practice into deliverable plans to achieve Formulation business objectives.

To identify new developments and trends (markets, (internal) customers, etc.), translate these into Formulation building blocks for others and/or opportunities in area of Process Technology and initiate the creation of (new) technological innovations/applications.

To keep up with external developments in Process Technology and ensure development, transfer and retention of new and state of the art knowledge.

To build, maintain and exploit a network of relevant (inter)national external stakeholders, customers, partners, research organisations and authorities, represent Formulation in networks and discuss and lobby for projects and future developments.

To provide specific technical support to the Business Development Team relating to proposal/project development and direct customer engagement.

The Person

Candidates should be educated to at least Degree (preferably PhD or Chartership) level in Chemical Engineering/ Chemistry and have significant experience in Process Technology, preferably having had industrial experience in the Formulation area. Significant, demonstrated laboratory experience in both batch and continuous scale-up of liquid formulations and raw materials is highly desirable. Candidates will be able to effectively use Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The ideal candidate will be committed to, and actively seek opportunities to develop themselves within this new and exciting role.
