Post Doctoral Researcher Quantum Dot Materials 2 years in Cambridgeshire
Our client is looking to recruit a Research Scientist to work on a new thermoelectric technology research project. This technology is based on using quantum dot materials for the semiconductor. Though the technology has demonstrated exciting performance, this has been shown in device structures that are not yet commercially interesting. The purpose of this new project is to develop the materials and device structures further so that they can be used in low cost, conformable thermoelectric devices that can be successfully commercialised.
The project will initially involve working with the thermoelectric device research team in the UK, before transferring to Japan just outside Tokyo. You will then transfer back to the UK to ensure all the learning is transferred back to the UK team.
PhD in Physics or Materials Science with a broad-based research focus on developing and demonstrating materials for new technology applications and excellent academic credentials are essential.
Experience with electronic or opto-electronics device physics
Experience fabricating electronic or opto-electronic devices using solution processing techniques.
Experience of using materials in prototype device structures to demonstrate the desired functional properties is highly desirable.
A comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including Japanese language learning support, will be offered to the successful candidate.
