Laboratory Technician in Wiltshire

Laboratory Technician

Own Car required due to location.

20k upwards

 

Overview:

They are responsible for the calibration of all testing equipment within their authority.

Often the work will be conducted in teams from the R&D, Quality and Operations departments.  


Key duties:

Ensure that Health & Safety is at the forefront of all manufacturing activities.

Carrying out routine and non-routine tasks accurately;

Performing a limited number of repetitive laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations;

Following strict methodology to carry out analyses;

Preparing specimens and samples;

Constructing, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment, including balances, pipetting machines, pH meters, water activity metres, peel test equipment, lab dishwasher, storage stability cabinets etc.

Recording and sometimes interpreting results to present to senior colleagues;

Using IT technology and performing mathematical calculations for the preparation of graphs;

Keeping up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability;

 Conducting searches on identified topics relevant to the research;

Following strict safety procedures and safety checks.

Person:

Non Graduate Ideally, but graduates considered on case-to-case basis.

Local Scientist with own transport.
