Laboratory Analyst (Alcohol) in Surrey

The role will involve a range of analyses on beer and related beverages primarily using mass spectroscopy based instrumentation. This is a busy laboratory and requires rapid turnaround times for results. There is an opportunity to learn about brewing. The role will suit someone with good analytical skills and who can work in a busy environment.   

Carry out analysis of beer and brewing raw materials.
Maintain full and up to date records of all work performed manually and automated, and all aspects of quality control.
Calibration, maintenance and daily monitoring of laboratory equipment, e.g. balances, pipettes.
Learning new analytical techniques as required.
General housekeeping.

Person:

A minimum of 1 - 2 years experience of mass spectroscopy. Training will be given, as needed, in the analysis of alcoholic beverages.
A degree in a science subject and/or relevant experience.
Work accurately within specified time frames.
Computer literate – proficient use of Word, Excel & Power Point.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Practically minded and able to work in a team.
