Interim Microbiology Manager - Facility Set-Up in Scotland

We are looking for a Microbiology Manager to help continue the set-up of a brand new facility:

Client services. Key function of this position is the implementation of microbiology services inclusive of: facility and process qualification programmes; trending, analysing and reporting on environmental monitoring programme and cGMP Sterility testing of MCB / WCB.

Responsible for the delivery of cGMP sterility testing and environmental monitoring programmes.


Accountable for ensuring implementation and adherence to Health & Safety procedures within Microbiology suite and general use of the facility.

Responsible for day to day running of the GMP Sterility and Microbiology Facility.

Accountable and Responsible for implementation of facility, process and personnel environmental qualification programmes and Standard Operating Procedures.

Responsible for representing the microbiology function in regulatory and client audits.

Responsible and contribute to the recruitment process, ensuring adequate appropriately qualified personnel are available.

Responsible for training and supervision of personnel, ensuring personal development plans and succession planning is in place.

Responsible for review & approval of environmental monitoring & sterility assay protocols for executed works.


Degree in relevant scientific field.

Proven track record in laboratory systems / process management.

Excellent technical knowledge in microbiology with particular reference to environmental monitoring and sterility testing.

Excellent knowledge of EU GMP Manufacturing regulations.

Proven track record of hosting client and regulatory audits.
