Food Sensory Technologist in Gloucestershire

 

Our client is responsible for work on many aspects of food quality and is involved in measuring the characteristics of food, such as appearance, odour, taste and texture.  Food companies are interested to understand how these ‘sensory’ characteristics are changed under different manufacturing or storage conditions.

Duties:

Manage sensory discrimination projects (contract) from commencement to completion in accordance with the client brief/objectives and time constraints.

Interpretation of sensory data, technical report writing and dissemination of results to clients

Respond to client enquiries, technical queries and preparation of quotes/proposals

To become proficient in the use of Compusense Cloud specialist sensory data collection software for running sensory discrimination/quality tests

Organise and execute recruitment, training and maintenance of the Discrimination Panel

To support and deputise for the Sensory Quality Team Supervisor as required

Person:

Degree or equivalent in a food science/technology or related discipline

Previous industrial experience in a sensory and/or laboratory environment (experience during degree of sensory activities is acceptable)

Completion of the 'One Day Introduction to Sensory Analysis' course and '4 Day Intermediate Sensory Evaluation Workshop' or equivalents, is desirable.

Food Safety Certificate is desirable
