Experimental Physicist / Chemist - Ion Mobility - 6 Months Temp in Hertfordshire

Support and input to Scientific projects covering experimental design, execution of experiments, analysis of data, and formulation of conclusions. High levels of laboratory competency and self-motivation are essential requirements. Effective liaison with other team members within the Technology Department will be essential.

Please note, there will be lots of data gathering in the initial phases of the project.


  1. Experimental Scientist with excellent practical skills.
  2. Conduct advanced research for the purposes of design enhancement.
  3. Capable of resolving complex technical issues
  4. Critically appraise experimental data and provide guidance based on interpretation of data.
  5. Capable of planning, progressing and delivering work; a highly motivated achiever and team player
  6. Excellent communication skills; ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels
  7. Well organised and adaptable, able to prioritise tasks and work effectively as part of a team
  8. Must be a motivated and self-starting individual capable of driving themselves and others to succeed in project goals as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.


  1. A degree in a Scientific discipline is required as a minimum qualification.
  2. Experience in practical laboratory and instrument testing techniques.
  3. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office essential.
  4. Desirable to have experience of analytical instrument design, particularly ion mobility spectrometry or mass spectrometry.
