Business Development Director – Formulation Projects

Experienced Business Development Director required to lead and manage a Business Development team in the area of Formulation development with a leading organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to build a significant revenue pipeline in an area of growing importance to a wide range of organisations, from high potential SMEs to large global corporates. You will have the opportunity to nurture a business-winning culture across the organisation, to achieve sales revenue, profit and retention targets. You will identify, develop and submit compelling funding bids to maintain a sustainable sales pipeline within the area, growing the capability of your team and contributing to the overall success of the organisation.

Responsibilities:

Providing functional leadership to the Formulation Business Development team to identify and translate funding and private sales opportunities to profitable business wins.

Work in partnership with the organisation’s Strategic Marketing function to identify and develop effective Collaborative Research and Development (CR&D) relationships with a variety of clients.

Create a strong business focus to deliver revenue and profit growth to the organisation and capability development to industry partners, particularly within the North East England region.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has the ability to drive and inspire exceptional performance and who empowers others to exceed both personal and company objectives. 

Candidate:

Significant, demonstrated, leadership experience in business/collaboration development in a technical organisation, alongside a track record of creating high performing teams and effective stakeholder management. 

Educated to at least degree level in a business or relevant scientific discipline and have extensive experience of developing business with key players employing formulation technologies across a range of industries.

Able to identify and implement cross-platform opportunities between the Formulation business and other business areas including Electronics, Biologics and Industrial Biotechnology.
