Applications Specialist - Bioreactors in Cambridgeshire

The Candidate

The successful candidate will act as a “bridge” between the R&D, Product Management and operational teams, other colleagues and customers abroad.

Principle Tasks break down into two broad areas.

Support and motivation of established team of Field Application Specialists with:

  • Introductions of new bioreactor systems and options at customer site, internal launches, conferences and online
  • Execution of marketing activity in support of bioreactor systems
  • Development of marketing material
  • Internal technical training on bioreactor systems
  • Train the trainer on bioreactor systems, to enable local AS to deliver end user training.
  • End user training on new or more complex systems
  •  “2nd level” troubleshooting on bioreactor systems


Support Product Management and R&D teams with:

  • Pre-development interviews with technical thought leaders from industry
  • Feedback on developing novel system concepts
  • Beta trials of novel systems and options


Qualifications and expertise

Graduate university degree in biology or biotechnology with a major in upstream process.

Developing and troubleshooting bioreactor processes.

Training others on bioreactor use and process set-up.

Self-driven work style; ability to work efficiently and in a customer-focused way

Excellent team player skills and proven ability to work in cross-functional teams; strong analytical, presentation and communication skills

Willing to travel, mainly to and from Central Europe (i.e. Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands)
